Frost of New Hampshire.
Mary (Pepperrell) Frost was the daughter of
Col. William Pepperrell and sister of
Sir William Pepperrell. Both of Kittery.

Served the Colonies in the American Revolution,
May 3, 1775-1783 as Ensign, Lieutenant, Commissary
of Issues, Surveyor General 1783-1786,
Register of Deeds for County of York, District of
Maine, April 12, 1786-April 16, 1816 and County
Treasurer May 15, 1787-April 1812.

Silas Wild's (7th) co., Col. Edmund Phinny's regt.; muster roll dated Garrison at Fort George, Dec. 8, 1776; appointed Jan. 1, 1776; reported re-engaged Nov. 13, 1776, as Lieutenant in Col. Brewer's regt.; also, Lieutenant, Col. Ebenezer Sprout's regt.; Continental Army pay accounts for service from Jan. 1, 1777, to Dec. 31, 1779; reported as serving 24 mos. as Lieutenant, 9 mos. as Barrack Master and Commissary of Issues; also, petition to the Council dated Boston, Feb. 24, 1777, signed by Capt. Samuel Brewer's regt., stating that he and his company of 60 men were under marching orders for Ticonderoga and asking for commissions for himself and officers of his company; said Frost, 1st Lieutenant, to tarry to finish recruiting; ordered in Council Feb. 24, 1777, that said officers be commissioned with the exception of said Frost who was to be commissioned after the company was completed; also, Lieutenant, Capt. Samuel Brewer's regt.; return dated Camp near Valley Forge, Jan. 23, 1778; also, order dated Camp near Valley Forge, Pa., April 9, 1778, signed by said Frost, Lieutenant, and others, officers of Col. Brewer's regt., for clothing to be delivered Lieut. Col. Littlefield; also, letter from Lieut. Col. Samuel Carlton to the Board of War at Boston, dated West Point, Dec. 27, 1778, asking that clothing be delivered officers of (late) Col. Brewer's regt.; also, 1st Lieutenant, (late) Col. Brewer's (12th) regt. commanded by Maj. Tobias Fernald; return for the moiety of money due officers July 15, 1779; said Frost left out of the arrangement April 1, 1779; reported Brigade Commissary; also, Commissary of Issues to Gen. Patterson's brigade; Continental Army pay accounts for service from Jan. 1, 1780, to Dec. 31, 1780. 2

"William Frost, aged seventy-three in 1820, served as Private in the company of Capt. Samuel Leighton." 14

He along with Solomon Brooks, Alexander McIntire, Daniel Carlisle, William Chase, Daniel Brooks, and Elihu Bragdon built a mill to manufacture cotton cloth called the York Cotton Factory Company. 16
