Cemetery: Old Hill Burying Ground, Newburyport Massachusetts Samuel was the son of Lord Timothy Dexter, who gave his title for his son's middle name. Esther was Samuel's wife who later remarried. According to the description in Timothy Dexter Revisited, by John P. Marquand, he was "...in spite of an expensive education, the boy was naturally imbecile and his mind was stored with nothing useful or ornamental...extremely cowardly, and, in toto, rotten to the core."
