In memory of
Maria Coues
(daughter of Peter & Rebecca Coues)
who died very uddenly Septr 13th 1797
aged nine years
Soft as the balm, the gentle breeze ditills.
Sweet as the Fragrance of the new mown hills;
Her opining mind a thouand charms reveal'd
Proof of thoe thouand which were there conceal'd
The lovliet Flower in Nature's Garden plac'd,
Permitted jut to bloom and pluck'd in hate
Angels beheld her ripe for joys to come,
??? ???? ??? command their Siter home.
