Lydia apparently had some problems after her first husband's death getting Congress to pay the prize money granted to widows of officers killed in action. She petitioned Congress for many years. Otis Baker was the son of Christine Otis Baker, who was kidnapped by Indians during the Cocheco Massacre. Many people were killed during the Massacre in 1684, including Christine's father, brother and sister. Her mother, herself and other siblings were taken to Quebec where they were sold.
