George Peabody House 205 Washington St. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In the 1800's George Peabody was one of America's most trusted and well-known financiers. The city of Peabody was renamed in 1868 after him. The house is s recently restored and used as a community cultural center maintained by the City of Peabody.
